5th EUC Beach Volleyball 2008 concluded
18 men and 16 women universities teams from 15 European countries competed for the titles of the European Universities Champions in Beach Volleyball.
Medallists:
Women
1. Estonian Business School 2 (EST) (Graumann Mari Liss – Bratuhhina Natalia)
2. Estonian Business School 1 (EST) (Puri Kadri – Bratuhhina Polina)
3. University of Ljubljana (SLO) (Andreja Vodeb – Ana Kocjancic)
Men
1. Transcarpathian University (UKR) (Kutsmus Andrij – Klyamar Oleksiy)
2. University of Brno (CZE) (Jindrich Weiss – Martin Tichy)
3. University of Klagenfurt (AUT) (Alexander Huber – Martin Streitfellner)
The Championship, organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation in cooperation with the Akdeniz University of Antalya and the Municipality of Colakli, took place from June 18-21, 2008 in Antalya (TUR).
The Champions became the Transcarpathian University of Uzhorod (UKR) in men, and Estonian Business School (EST) in women competition. 4 days of perfectly organised championship were a fantastic example how huge vitality and potential the university sport has.
The Closing Ceremony of the championship took part at Colakli Beach on June 21, 2008 just after the exiting finals games. The winners were awarded of medals, cups and flowers.The special, unexpected prize was given by Mr. Hasan Coskun, Mayor of Colakli, who awarded all the medallist with 7-days holidays in Colakli.
The championship concluded with the farewell party on the beach.
