4th EUSA Cup in Aesthetic Group Gymnastics

Competitions for the EUSA Cup in Aesthetic Group Gymnastics were held between April 24 and 26, 2015 in Tampere, Finland. Participants formed 8 university teams from 8 different universities from four countries.

Competitions were very successful and high level. Top 3 teams also took high places in International Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics World Cup finals competition which were held together with EUSA Cup competitions. Russian team Expressia from Moscow State University of Railway Engineering’s won both competitions with absolutely fantastic and skillful choreography and execution. Silver medals were awarded to team Madonna from Moscow Pedagogical State University. Madonna has won last 4 World Championships in AGG during years 2011-2014 so this team is really high level and hard to be won. Bronze medals went to Estonia Tartu University Team Janika Sunshine whom was very happy about their success in the 2015 EUSA Cup.

The representatives of the Aesthetic Group Gymnastics International Federation (IFAGG) were very pleased about the EUSA Cup competitions. Number of participating teams was very good and level of the teams very high. This is an important part of development of Aesthetics Group gymnastics as a sport for students. IFAGG aims to make these competitions on regular basis. These competitions were excellent and hundreds of fans of AGG in Finland saw the student teams compete. Competitions were sold out both in finals, as well as in preliminaries.

Finnish Gymnastics Federation was also very pleased that competitions went well and organizing committee did excellent job with all the competition arrangement.  They were also very proud of their own students team Campuksen Koonto from the University of Jyvaskyla. This is a good beginning to have more Finnish student to continue their gymnastics careers in Universities.
