22nd International Rowing Regatta Sveti Duje

The 2024 International Regatta Sveti Duje took place in Split, celebrating its 22nd edition from May 10-12.

The tradition continued also this year, when the top university rowing crews from Europe and beyond, were gathered in Split, through their participation in the Sveti Duje International Rowing Regatta.

The event was organized by the Croatian Academic Sport Federation (CASF), University of Split and Split University Sport Association in cooperation with local partners, under the patronage of the European University Sport Association (EUSA).

On 10th of May, in a relaxed, friendly, and dreamy atmosphere, the 22nd edition of the International Rowing Regatta ‘Sveti Duje’ was ceremonially opened at the Meštrović Gallery, where all the participants, attendees and guests gathered. This opening ceremony featured beautiful atmosphere, speeches and served as a great opportunity for the representatives of the teams to mingle and get to know each other.  

Saturday, 11th of May was the day when the International Rowing Regatta Sv. Duje officially kicked off the competition, starting with great qualification races and continuing with the amazing and exciting university eights finals.

The university eight finals brought the champions and top 3 in both men and women categories:

In the women’s category the joy for winning the gold medal belonged to University of Oxford, while the silver medal went in the hands of University of Cambridge. The third place and the bronze medal was won by the rowers of University of Zagreb.  

In the men’s competition, the first place was won by University of Cambridge, the second place on the podium was reserved for Tartu University, while the third place belonged to Imperial College of London.

The second competition day was reserved for the Race of the Legends, which saw rowers from Oxford, Cambridge, and Split. The winner of the Race of Legends this year were the Cambridge Legends, while the second and third place on the podium were taken by Oxford Legends and Split Legends.
