2024 FISU Championships overview
The 2024 FISU Championships will see 21 championships take place over the course of the year, 13 of which will be hosted in European countries.
The year kick starts with the FISU World Championships in Ski Orienteering taking place in Switzerland, Lenzerheide from 12-16 January. The next championships will be held in February in Oman, Muscat and Norway, Hamar for the Cross Country and Speed Skating Championships.
In April, the FISU World Championships for Finswimming will be held from the 26-27 April in Colombia, Pereira. At the end of May, the FISU World Championships for Cycling will be held in Costa Rica, San Carlos from 29 May - 2 June.
June is a busy month for the FISU championships with 5 different championships being held across the world. From 6-10 June the World University Championships for Sailing will take place in Italy, Desenzano del Grada. Next, from the 10-12 June, the Rugby Sevens University World Championships will be held in France, Aix-en-provence. China, Shanghai will host the Futsal World University Championships from 10 - 16 June. At the end of June the World University Championships in Handball will be held in Spain, Madrid from 24-30 June and the Mind Sports World University Championships will be held in Uganda, Entebbe from 25-30 June.
July will begin with the Rowing University Championships 4 - 6 July in the Netherlands, Rotterdam. The month will close with the Powerlifting world championships happening on the 23-27 July in Estonia, Tartu. In August, 4 championships will take place throughout the month. On the 1 - 5 August, the second World University Championships of Orientering will take place in Bulgaria, Bansko. Next, the World University Championships of Cheerleading will be held in Croatia, Split. The World University Championships of Pentathlon will take place in Lithuania, Kaunas.
The month of August will finish with the world University Championships of Golf in Finland, Kuortane-Seinajok and the Triathlon Championships happening in Poland, Gdansk from the 30-31 Aug.
From September 2-8, two championships will take place, the World University in Beach Sports in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro and the World University Championships in Squash in South Africa, Johannesburg. From 9-12 September, the World Championships of Sport Climbing will be hosted on the coast of Slovenia in Koper.
The 2024 year will finish in October with the World University Championships of Shooting Sport from 5-9 October in India, New Delhi.
