2017 European Week of Sport Seminar
Sport Unit of the European Commission organised on May 10 and 11 in Dublin, Ireland, a Key Players' Seminar for the partners and national coordinators of the European Week of Sport and #beactive campaign, hosted by Sport Ireland. European University Sports Association (EUSA) also took part in the event.
EUSA was represented at the event by Mr Andrej Pisl, EUSA Communications and Projects Manager.
The Seminar kicked off on May 10 with the welcome by the European Commission and Sport Ireland, touring also the sport campus and visiting the Fit 4 All Expo, featuring also sports for people with disabilities.
Over 100 participants at the seminars - representatives of the national coordinators and partners were then able to engage in team-building exercises and outdoor activities, directly linking sport with #beactive campaign and philosophy.
The participants concluded the first day with a walking tour of Dublin and formal dinner, where the awards for the most active teams were presented.
The Seminar continued on May 11 with plenary session on latest development on the European Week of Sport, giving an overall overview and focusing on novelties from the previous successful editions. Parallel sessions followed, featuring interactive workshops for media specialists and networking session for national coordinators and partners.
The 2017 European Week of Sport will be held September 23-30 and will be opened officially in Tartu, Estonia, by the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Mr Tibor Navracsics, in presence of also Executive Committee members and staff of EUSA.
All European Universities Championships and other EUSA events are promoting the Europen Week of Sport and the #beactive campaign. EUSA also encourages its members and partners to implement activities on local level and contribute to the promotion!
