In Lodz, host city of the European Universities Badminton Championship 2019, organizer of European Universities Handball Championship in 2007, World University Championship in Cross Country in 2014, Bridge in 2016 and host of the World University Cheerleading and Floorball Championships in 2018, also European Universities Badminton Championship will be organized in 2019, annual University Sport Gala took place on 17th December at Lodz University of Technology.

More than 200 students, University officials and invited guests gathered in University theatre. Mr Marek Sekieta – President of the local AZS club welcomed all attendees and presented sport and organizational achievements of 2016. Afterwards students received awards for their sport successes and organizational commitments presented by the University’s Vice-Rector Prof. Witold Pawlowski.



The President of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) Mr Adam Roczek also attended the ceremony, presenting awards to designers of the logotypes of two World University Championships which will be held in Lodz in 2018. In his short speech he congratulated all award recipients and underlined involvement of the club to promote University and City of Lodz at international stage by organizing events from FISU and EUSA program. EUSA President invited the hosts to explore possibilities to apply for the organization of more EUSA sports events in the future, also wishing everyone all the best in the festive Christmas and New Year period.
