2015 ADH Assembly elects new board and confirms new structure

The General Assembly of the German University Sport Federation (ADH) met in Jena on November 22 and 23, reaching two important decisions. A new ADH Board was elected and the delegates agreed on a new structure of the Federation.

In the elections, Mr Felix Arnold, student at the University of Göttingen has been reelected as the President of AHD. The finances will be lead by Mrs Katrin Werkmann (University of Frankfurt). The Ministry Public Relations and Marketing will be coordinated by the Marburg student Nicola Franic. In the field of competition the director of the university sports the University of Kiel, Mr Bernd Lange has been elected and Mr Dirk Kilian from the University of Darmstadt was chosen for the education department. The Board is completed by Ms Juliane Bötel of the Dresden University of Technology, covering Equal Opportunities and Human Resources Development.

"I am looking forward to tackle the tasks ahead, together with the new board colleagues. We have a lot ahead of us and have what it takes to meet the challenges," Mr Arnold said after the election.

With this year's General Assembly also the ADH structural process reached an important milestone. The members agreed on a new structure for the Federation and instructed the Board to draw up a corresponding draft statute to the upcoming General Assembly in Kassel.

Awads for best student athletes and university 2015

Student athletes Fabian Hambüchen (German Sports University in Cologne) and Lena Urbaniak (Ansbach University of Applied Sciences) were honored as part of the General Assembly as athletes of the year. The title of best university went to the University of Paderborn.

The Assembly also paid a special tribute to Mr Roland Joachim, who helped to shape the history of the German University Sports Federation for 34 years, awarding him with the title of ADH Honorary Member.
