100 years of university sport federation in Hungary
The Hungarian University Sports Federation (HUSF) - first of the kind in Europe - was founded on 25th March 1907, and it celebrated its 100th anniversary on 25th March 2007.

In 1935, 1949, and 1954 it organized World University Games. With the foundation of FISU in 1959 as one of its members HUSF played a significant role in the international university sports life. The 1965 Universiade took place in Budapest, and in the last decades HUSF organized 8 World University Championships in different sports and games. HUSF is also a member of EUSA, from its foundation onwards, trying to improve European University Sports with the help of a delegate in the EUSA Student Commission.

 HUSF guests

Representatives of 41 member institutions, 35 National Sports Federations, 47 University Sports Clubs and several international organizations; an estimated 350 participants were present on 25th March, 2007 at the Centennial General Assembly. HUSF president Dr. Robert Frenkl greeted the participants, followed by the speeches of FISU General Secretary Mr. Roch Campana and EUSA President Mr. Alberto Gualtieri. The spectacular cultural and sports program was followed by the awarding ceremony.

 Speeches

Mr. Csaba Hédi HUSF General Secretary was awarded a honourable mention by the Ministry, 10 Gold Plaques were awarded, including Mr. Campana and Mr. Gualtieri, and another 50 participants received their Bronze Plaques. Both FISU and EUSA were awarded a Centennial Certificate.

Awards 

In the afternoon the opening of the Exhibition on University Sports took place in the neighbourhood.
