100 days to Chengdu 2021 FISU Games!
Today marks 100 days until student-athletes from all over the world will meet at the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games this summer, to compete, exchange ideas, and experience the unique charm of Sichuan’s capital.
100 day to go until the Chinese megalopolis will host 269 medal events in 18 sports: artistic gymnastics, swimming, badminton, athletics, fencing, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, judo, archery, water polo, taekwondo, diving, tennis, rhythmic gymnastics, wushu, shooting sport, and rowing.
It's time to get excited about this incredible event, which will be held from 28 July to 8 August in 45 different sports venues - including 13 newly built for the FISU Games.
This incredible showcase of athleticism, sportsmanship, and international unity in Chengdu will close a 4-year period without summer games, with the latest edition held in Napoli (Italy) in 2019.
FISU Acting President Mr Leonz Eder, at the recent Head of Delegations meeting, said “I hope that as many student-athletes as possible will come to Chengdu to compete and meet each other.” He stated, "I'm more than convinced that Chengdu will host great games."
Let the countdown begin: only 100 days before the start, with 100% enthusiasm and anticipation, Chengdu is ready to welcome athletes, spectators, and visitors from around the globe.
