Tribute to Czech University Sport

Czech University Sports Federation (CAUS) celebrated on June 8, 2010 in Prague its 100th Anniversary. On this occasion several events were prepared including the official ceremony, gala concert and the National University Sport Games.

 

After the Gala concert, held in Bethlehem Chapel in Prague, the invited guest could also witness the official promotion of the book in which the reach history of Czech University Sport over the last 100 years is presented.

 

CAUS 100th anniversary - Opening

 

The Ceremonial Session of the Czech University Sports Association was held in the historical Carolina Auditorium at the Charles University of Prague. Among 300 invited guests were also the President of the Czech Republic, Chairman of the Senate, Minister for Education and Sports, President of the Czech Olympic Committee, President of Czech Sports Federation, Rectors of the Czech Universities, Representatives of EUSA, FISU, NUSAs of Slovenia, Slovakia and Poland, Members of CAUS and students.

On behalf of EUSA Mr Alberto Gualtieri, President and Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, Secretary General paid an honour to this very significant anniversary.

In his speech Mr Gualtieri thanked the Czech University Sports Federation and its President Mr Frantisek Dvorak for the invitation that gave EUSA the possibility to celebrate the long and active history of CAUS and its constant presence in the last century that was full of historical changes where CAUS demonstrated its devotion to university sport.

The Ceremony concluded with awards presented by CAUS President to the most valuable individuals for their personal contribution in development of the Czech University Sports.
